Pay-as-you-go broadband service launched
AfriConnect is pleased to be able to annouce that its new pay-as-you-go always-on wireless internet service has been commissioned in Lusaka today.
In a press release today the Company announced:
“For the past 5 years AfriConnect has offered its high-speed iConnect broadband service via fixed monthly subscriptions, with higher cost equipment needed for multi-computer and demanding environments. We are now introducing a service for homes and small businesses. This is directly in line with our business objectives to remove barriers to entry and to increase public access to the internet. Having a connection at home is now no longer a reserve of the elite. It is essential for all to have access.
The new pay as you internet access will be available throughout Lusaka, with other towns following shortly thereafter.
The service allows for people to pay for what they use and “surf-time” is available from as low as K10, 000 in selected retail outlets.
A plus for this service is that you can use the same voucher you bought for home throughout our network of iSpot Wi-fi hotspots plus free surfing between midnight and 3 am.”
The service features simple self-online account management, which includes online bill payment, management of services like viewing of usage statistics."
